Harrier Conservation International
Harrier Conservation International is founded with the aim of connecting an international network of harrier researchers, conservationists and farmers. Harriers show us the way to the knowledge we need to make worldwide protection possible. Not only the protection of these elegant birds of prey, but also conservation of valuable habitats in balance with sustainable agriculture.
We work together with many partners to bring the habitats of harriers in balance with land use (agriculture and nature conservation). We believe that independent scientific research is of significant importance here.
Finally, we want to share the knowledge about farmland birds and the beauty of the elegant harriers in particular with a wide audience as much as possible.
Annual cycle
Harrier Conservation International is not only focusing on devising effective agricultural/protection concepts based on ongoing research and insight. The foundation also focuses on the significance of stopover areas and wintering. In doing so, we want to try to understand how, for example, climate change or changing landscapes influence migration and survival. The annual cycle of harriers to arrive at a species-level system approach in breeding areas, during migration and wintering.
